Isaac Askwith leads Arrows to top

The Encon Derbyshire Arrows scored an impressive win over Leeds which will keep them at the top of the division with a critical 5 games left in the season. The Arrows led 27 – 10 at the end of the opening quarter as they welcomed back guard Isaac Askwith from illness and this was the foundation of this vital 98 – 56 win. Isaac Askwith had 21 points in the first half before finishing with 25 overall. The Arrows now have an overall record of 14 – 1.

The Arrows burst into life after an even start as they put together a 13 – 0 blitz which saw them end the quarter ahead 27 – 10. Isaac Askwith had 10 points and set a high tempo for the Arrows.

The second quarter saw Leeds much more on form taking the quarter 16 – 15 but the Arrows have proved defensively sound all season and still led 42 – 25 at the interval.
The Arrows were at their dominant best in the third quarter taking it 22 – 9 which allowed them to have a relaxed final quarter as they moved to a 98 – 56 victory.

The Arrows remain at the top of the league with 5 games to play.
