Arrows turn on the power against the Dragons
Encon Derbyshire Arrows U14s 110 Bradford Dragons 44
The Encon Derbyshire Arrows returned to winning ways with a powerful 110 – 44 victory over the Bradford Dragons. The Arrows were too athletic and big for a largely inexperienced Dragons outfit and there were good performances across the board for the Arrows who maintain their second place in the division with a 13 – 2 record.
Amir Khan got the Arrows started as he made his height tell with a couple of early finishes as the Arrows started strongly. However, as the quarter continued Aidan Abbott – Spooner took control of the boards while Saleh Ahmed made a run of finishes along with Chris Ampon as the Arrows closed the quarter ahead by 37 – 9.
The Arrows were not at their most fluent in the second quarter as they struggled with finishes but were still too strong for the Dragons. The quarter was more competitive but the Arrows look out of reach at the interval leading 56 – 21.
The Arrows powered on in the second half with a variety of scorers as some slick passing saw Joseph Windle convert along with Amir Khan, Barnaby Smith and Ty Green – Scott. In control of the game throughout was Lloyd Askwith and Kyle Edwards who created a number of chances for their team. The Arrows ran out comprehensive winners by 110 – 44.
