Arrows Basketball Club is very proud to be working in partnership with the University Of Sheffield Basketball Club (USB). The club is very thankful to those at USB for the opportunity to coach the team and hope for many years of success in partnership. Currently the club is being coached by Arrows guard and junior coach Jonathan Kelly. In the first year of this partnership, Coach Kelly was able to lead the university to their first promotion in near 10 years! Coach Kelly had this to say, "I am very honoured to be the coach of this historic university. I am also very honoured to say that i worked with guys this year who just wanted to work hard and were open to new and inivative trainings. We were able to become really successful and going an unbeaten 10-0 league record was a testament to their hard work (see table below). Hard work was a key to this season and the club has moved forward with a push from the leaving Gethyn Friswell. Gethyn was a main contributor to the successful season, and a big reason why the club will have a second team in the BUCS competition this year". The club now go into the 2012/13 campaign one division behind their bitter rivals Sheffield Hallam in both 1st and 2nd teams, but are making significant strides going forward. "2012/13 season is going to be a fascinating one for the club on all parts. We are going to have more players playing competively every week and hopefully an increase in competition for places. We are sad to see Gethyn Friswell leave the club after a significant contribution, but look forward to the guidance from club chairmen Dan Dawson and Dan Lovett. But first we kick off before most university's, with the summer camp which promises to be very productive in both on court improvements, but off court morale" said Kelly.
