Abdifatah and Hopkinson impress in defeat to Nottingham Nova U15

Arrows 56 Nova 79

Arrows U15’s showed a great improvement in development despite losing on the day 56 – 79, earlier in the season they had gone down to the same opposition by 35 – 91. Abdifatah top scored for the Arrows with 19 but amongst a number of good performances Jordan Hopkinson’s rebounding and Matt Bristows clever passing against the press are deserving of particular praise.

Like the Arrows U14’s before them the Arrows lost the first quarter by 30 – 8 and another big defeat seemed likely, however such is the improvement in the squad that they were able to haul back the initiative and share the points in the rest of the game.

The work of Jordan Hopkinson was his best of his early Arrows career as his improvement has been rapid this season and he is now showing signs of being a top player. Abdifatah showed how he has developed a game that can trouble everyone in the league.

U14 stars Ross Walcott and Aiden Dennison had 7 points each while Andy Lycoudis led the team brilliantly with 8 points. Matt Bristow linked excellent passing with a great “3 point play” showing again a steady improving confidence in his game.

Scorers; Abdifatah 19, Lycoudis 8, Walcott 7, Dennison 7, Hopkinson 6, Adan 6, Bristow 3
