Arrows Repel Viking Invasion

Derbyshire Arrows 73 York Vikings 31

The Derbyshire Arrows came into the game 2wins and 2 losses so far this season with their 2 losses against very tough teams away from home. They started this game positively with Ross Walcott and Connor Hicken featuring strongly. The Arrows went into the first quarter break leading 18-8. The second quarter was very similar as Aidan Dennison started to get his eye in on the basket finishing some nice fast break opportunities.

The second half saw a continuing dominance from the young Arrows side and an and-1 play from James Bennett got the scoreboard rolling. More points for Hicken, Dennison and Walcott saw the Arrows take the 3rd quarter 18-3 as the scoreline extended to 54-20. The fourth quarter saw the Arrows show some real team play, with more baskets for Bennett as well as a basket for Tom Holland. Adam Wood and Wadha Hassan were unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet with their efforts. Ellis Salim put another good performance and was also unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. The Arrows sealed off the game with a long 2 pointer from James Bennett and celebrated another home victory 73-31.
