East Midlands Success for Arrows Pair

Aidan Dennison and Ross Walcott both played for the East Midlands this weekend at the National Regional Development Tournament as they won the whole thing being undefeated all weekend. Both Ross and Aidan performed well throughout the weekend with Aidan constantly shutting down his man in each game. Ross Walcott was able to show his talents off with alot of classy baskets and rebounding. The Arrows Point guard playing out of position at shooting guard and small forward for the tournament was still able to second top score in the final with 11 points. But it was noticeable that both Arrows players were working hard for the team rather than themselves which contributed to a great team performance.

East Midlands coach Charlie Ford had this to say about his team, "I am so proud of the way the boys conducted themselves on and off the court this weekend. A number of factors have contributed to the success of the team but at the heart of it was a professional attitude to improve and learn. Winning the tournament is recognition and reward for the hard work that is taking place within the clubs in the East Midlands to develop and nurture youth players".

Arrows coaches Jonathan and James Kelly went down to the tournament held at Lilleshall International Sports Centre and U14 coach Jonathan Kelly commented about Aidan and Ross, "They performed really well and in a mature manner. They were asked to do a job for the team and they did it successfully. It was great to see two Arrows boys perform with the best players in the UK and look more than comfortable with the level. It is a true testament to their own personal hard work and concentration. Each training they attend they are listening and learning and trying to improve in every drill".

Both Aidan and Ross will be in action this saturday against Local rivals Sheffield Saints (former Sharks) at All Saints School at 2pm. The team will look to be the first team in 6 years to beat their rivals, but confidence is high with encouraging results to start the season.
