Arrows 67 – Rotherham Hawks 50

Arrows in the middle of their Summer preparation camp managed to show some nice touches in a 67 – 50 win over Rotherham Hawks. Jack Ellis impressed in his first outing of the summer while Nick Holt also showed how he is improving fast under the Arrows coaching.

On the night the Arrows proved too athletic for the Hawks who themselves were experimenting with players ready for the new season.

An 18 – 0 run for the Arrows at either side of the interval broke open what had been a tightly contested contest. Mitchell Dennison was impressive and very athletic at guard while Nelson Mario’s hustle and general aggression was always difficult for Hawks to handle.

Callam Newsham played his best game for the Arrows with a couple of blocked shots while Sam Baddley eased his way back after injury.

New court captain Rory Wheatcroft again showed flashes of class as he finished a number of opportunities while James Wilson again shows an upward curve and is becoming comfortable at this level.
