Arrows dream continues as they reach Cup Final

Killamarsh Arrows have reached the Patrons Cup Final, having won in front of great support from the rest of the Club and friends they defeated London Westside by 78 – 65. This caps a remarkable turn - around at this level for a Club celebrating its’ 20th anniversary.

The Arrows were impressive in the opening quarter in taking a 20 – 10 lead on the back of some measured offence and determined defence. Andrew Chiguri showed tremendous defence in shackling Westside’s leading scorer for the season to just 5 points.

Westside hit back in the second quarter as the Arrows struggled to maintain their grip on the game. The Arrows lost the quarter 14 – 24 and the teams were locked on 34 with a half to play.

The third quarter was to prove decisive as the Arrows powered to a 21 – 8 advantage that they were never to relinquish running out winners 78 – 65. RB Clyburn iii top scored on the night with 34 points well supported by 15 from Joseph Baugh and 13 from Akin Lisk – Carew.

This was truly a team win with great contributions from Sam Spare, James Kelly and Andy Purnell. The Arrows intensity in the end wore down London Westside and booked the Arrows place in the final on 26th February in Leicester at 12.30pm.

The team are indebted to the support given on the day throughout the club willing them on to victory. It shows the strength of the Arrows at all levels and the pride of the club.
