The Arrows celebrate their 20th Anniversary season with great optimism at senior level and a committed and talented set of junior teams. The club has embarked on a rebranding operation with the launch of a new website sponsored by killer-byte and an updated logo.
The senior team has struggled through the last two seasons of re – structuring but the club has now reached the stage when it can once again be in a more equitable position to compete at the EBL 2 level of basketball.
The Arrows continue to build on the impressive developmental partnerships locally with the Universities of Hallam and Sheffield meaning that the Arrows will offer a high level of exit route to students entering the City.
The move to develop basketball in Killamarsh Sports Centre has also proved to be a very positive change in the Club’s history as there has developed a partnership agreement to make this location a top level basketball centre of excellence.
The Arrows continue to attract some of the area’s best young talent moving into senior basketball because the Club has a reputation for giving opportunities to skilful players regardless of their age. In the last 3 seasons the Arrows have fielded a group which has comfortably been the youngest in the division but this investment in this age of dwindling financial resources is about to bare fruit.
The development system the envy of club’s locally, continues to develop top class players who are often the target of other team’s recruitment plans. The Arrows retainment figures are extremely high and this is because of the total basketball coaching style which sees a love of the game fostered to help the individual enjoy the game of basketball at all levels. The local leagues are full of people who have enjoyed the Arrows experience.
The Club remains a family owned and run organisation as it was as founded in 1991 and that means there is a given element of care within the club with players coming to sessions as young as 5 years old.
